How do I make a crochet border?

I just learned to crochet last year, but my very dear friend who was teaching me moved out of state. I crocheted a blanket using a double stitch, but now I need to put a border on it and have not clue where to start. Could someone help me? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check out crochet borders on your search engine. There are many and you should be able to find something you like and would fit in with the pattern of the blanket. If you can’t e-mail me and I will try to find something for you
