One of the primary rules of marketing your business is getting the best return on investment. Every business owner wants to gain maximum exposure for the lowest possible cost; and you don’t have to spend a fortune to bring in new customers and increase your sales. What you need to do is to find easy methods of making people aware of your business and the products and services you have to offer.
As a small business owner, you obviously have a relatively small advertising budget. One thing you can do to advertise your business for next to nothing is to have bumper stickers printed up and place one on your own vehicle.
Using your car as a moving marketing billboard for your business is definitely not a new concept. You can see this sort of marketing being done every year when companies stick their advertisements on every single surface of the cars taking part in the competitions on the racetracks.
Naturally, you don’t want to take this approach with your own car. What you should do instead of plastering the entire vehicle with stickers is to place just one attractive, attention getting sticker which will get other motorists’ notice and help promote your business.
How many traffic lights do you have to wait for on your commute to work? Chances are that you have to wait for at least four each way. On average, you’ll spend a minute waiting at each of these intersections; plenty of time for drivers behind you to see your bumper sticker and read it, perhaps remembering your business. If you take the same route every day, you’ll probably also be seen by the same drivers again and again – who will then remember your business when they’re in need of what your business offers.
A bumper sticker also says something about you: namely that you love what you do and that you’re proud enough of your business that you want everyone to know about it. It says you’re there and tells people how to get in touch when they need your products or services.
A good businessman is also going to make sure that whenever he needs to park his car, he parks it in such a prominent place that anybody entering or exiting the car park does not fail to see the bumper sticker. And as 99% of human beings love to read anything written at the back of a car, they are going to read your message too!
For the small business owner, a stationary billboard is often not a great option. These billboards are costly and they are often placed alongside many others, which makes it harder for them to stand out. A mobile billboard offers a much larger chance of your potential customers seeing your message. If you want to stand out and reach your target markets, you need to advertise in creative ways which really get people’s attention.
If you drive often, then keep the value of a simple bumper sticker in mind. Every street, every traffic light and every parking place is another opportunity to reach consumers and build your business.
